Introduction

Students take an interesting selfie with a favorite book including a message to promote it. Both pictures and messages are displayed and read by the others. Students may also read a fragment from the book and try to convince others to read it.

Learning Objectives

  • Developing in students behaviors and attitudes that support lifelong reading
  • Increasing students' motivation for reading
  • Stimulating students' creativity

Process

PROCEDURE: 1. Each student chooses a favorite book to take a selfie with! 2. Each student writes a message about his/her favorite book. 3. The photos and messages about the books are printed and displayed in the classroom. 4. Students are organized into groups (tandems reading) based on common interests (they read and promote the same book or promote books in the same field: adventures, science fiction, short stories, etc). 5. Each group presents the photos taken and reads a passage from the book chosen for promotion. 5. Students must find at least 5 tips to convince their classmates to read the promoted book! 6.
